Social networking software maker IDEO said it is “actively” exploring the possibility of developing an app for smartphones, a move that could make it easier for users to connect with one another and share content.
“We are actively exploring the development of an app that will allow users to create, share, and collaborate on social media content on a mobile device,” IDEO wrote in a blog post Monday.
“The app would allow users access to social media profiles from the same mobile device that is already the primary social media user’s primary social network.”
A mobile app could be developed for smartphones that allows users to share content from multiple social networks, which could potentially allow users and their social networks to be more closely linked.IDEO also said it has begun “researching a mobile app to enable social media users to access social media on the go.”
The company said the app would “help social networks better serve their audiences,” which could also be a potential reason for the company to consider the app.
IDEO has been developing mobile apps since 2013.
